German States - Bavaria. Dated 1911/06/??. Bad Aibling cds (day indistinct) ties two Scott 93 on short paid cover to Baden, Switzerland. This is a triple weight cover requiring 40pf (50 centimes) due that was paid by Switzerland J33 tied by 13 June Baden cds. Blue crayon "50" (centimes) due marking in middle. Reverse with 13 June receiving cds. Staple holes on edges indicate an article of some weight was contained in the cover. Bavaria stamps were issued on June 10th.

Also on face are two 29 July Wilmersdorf receiving/transit cds, "Aus dem Briefkasten" (From the Mailbox) straight line hand stamp, blue crayon "20" as postage due for the address corrected/forwarded cover, and pencil "rec'd Sept.3, 1907 Norderney." On the reverse are 2 Sept. Wilmersdorf cds & 3 Sept. Norderney cds. It appears the letter was received, address correction made and then deposited into a mail box.

First duplex where a stamp would normally be, the second on the reverse ties a Pan-American label that seals the flap. Blue crayon around the seal indicates it was not accepted as postage. At left is a red Pan-American embossed logo with the "return in five days" crossed out (no return address on the cover). At lower left is a "SPOT 11" seapost cancel (Hosking TA/X18). Blue crayon "80" denotes 80pf (20c) due from the addressee. 80pf equivalent to 10c double weight letter & 10c penalty. The cover shows an indent at the top that indicates enclosures adding weight. At lower left on the reverse is a 28 Sept. JNGOLSTADT receiving cds.
