Cover #82747. United States. VA. Bent Creek, VA. Appomattox Co. (open 1800-1946). Dated 1863/08/20. US 1c Franklin (#24) tied by blue Baltimore cds on circular rate cover (faults) to Bent Creek, VA. Ms "Circular" at upper left. Reverse with Ms 2-line town, date & cancel that tie a four margin CSA 10c (#12/w faults) on the turned cover. At left is "John F White/1st Sept 1863 docketing.
