Rate 2/2 paid for trans-Atlantic carriage (1/2x2) which converted to local Halifax currency of 2/5. 8d postage charge from Halifax to PEI (4d internal x 2) included in the 2/2 charge. Total postage 3/1. Route: London, England - Halifax, NS - Amherst, NS, Sackville, NB - Capte Tormentine, NB - Northumberland Strait - Cape Traverse, PEI - Charlottetown. Winter mail typically carried across the frozen Northumberland Strait by ice boat. Business content in the letter which has some reinforced splits.
