The sender prepaid the following postage to New York: Canadian postage of 9d (7d postage to Queenston 61-100 miles + 2c ferriage fee), U.S. postage of 25d (over 400 miles) from Lewiston to New York City. The British postage (sea postage = 1/ + carriage from Liverpool to Glasgow - 2d sterling) was not prepaid. On back is boxed Liverpool/Ship Letter h/s & Glasgow 20 JU h/s.
