Ms "Via Brindisi routing request at upper left. Per the P&O steamer Nyanza, departing Southampton 23 Feb., arriving Brindisi 26 Feb. Departed Alexandria 29 Feb. per the steamer Khedive arriving Galle 16 Mar. Per the Banglaore departing Galle 16 Mar., arriving Melbourne 7 Apr. Reverse (most back flap missing) with 8 Apr Melbourne receiving cds.

Great Britain. Dated 1876/04/19. Manchester "498" duplex ties Scott #66 (plt 3) on double weight cover to Manchester, New Hampshire. Ms "2" (double rate) at upper left, black "T" postage due handstamp & 2 May New York Due 15cts cds. Reverse with 19 Apr. West Corton cds. During the period 1 Jul. 1875 through 31 Mar. 1879 postage due was figured at double the rate that should have been paid minus what was actually paid. In this case 20c (with penalty) was due minus 5c paid for a net of 15c due.

Great Britain. Dated 1878/09/07. Black barred numeral "144" cancel ties 2p Queen (#30 plate 15) on a newspaper "The Illustrated London News" of Sept 7th, 1878. the 2p pays the correct 1 pence per two ounces for between 4 & six ounces. The actual weight is about five ounces. Scans shows only the stamp, the newspaper is full size and intact. Newspaper with horizontal fold, will be shipped open and flat.

Great Britain. Dated 1878/11/08. Edinburgh, Scotland "31" duplex ties Scott 33 (plate 201) on local delivery cover forwarded to Portugal. 1 pence pays the local delivery rate. Manuscript "To be forwarded" at upple left. Black "T" & "30" handstamps. Cover short paid by 1 1/2 pence (30 reis in Portugal). No penalty involved as franking was correct for the local rate. Reverse with colorless embossed company return address, 9 Nov. Edinburgh transit cds & 15 Nov. Lisbon receiving cds.

Great Britain. Dated 1879/12/15. Croydon "93" duplex tie single and pair of Scott #33 (plate 219!) on cover (faults) to Boston. The double weight cover (ms 2 at upper left) was underpaid by 2 pence (4 cents) which was doubled to 8c due with penalty. Black postage due "T" and pencil "8". Reverse with partial 28 Dec. Boston receiving cds, 29 Dec Boston Carriers Div cds, & Scott J3 & J4 tied by red cancels.
